2017 – Specialty Programs

Cooking Round the World

Cooking Round the World marries cooking with cultural education.  We educate boys and girls about countries around the world using cooking as the conduit in order to celebrate diversity and embrace difference.

Each camp day we cook 7 recipes, read a folktale, see a slide show, teach language and play a game show.  In the afternoon we play our version of the TV show “Chopped.”  The program is completely hands-on; everyone peels or chops or dices or minces.

We believe in cooking with whole foods and having the children do the prep work themselves. The outcome is an appreciation of food and cultural difference.

Locations in Oakland, Lafayette, Alameda, Albany, Pleasant Hill.

To note: We are a completely nut free program.  There are no nuts in any recipe.
