2018 – Girl Power

Alexa Café

Our all-girls summer program combines tech, entrepreneurship, and social activism, empowering the next generation of women in STEM.

At Alexa Café, girls tap into the power of technology, exploring leadership, entrepreneurship, and social activism along the way.  Ideas take shape around cafe tables in a fresh, empowering setting. New friends join forces and collaborate to better our world.  Whether your daughter wants to code an app for charity, design her own video game, engineer wearable electronics, or discover the secrets of cyber security, she’ll create a project she’s passionate about and join an inspired community of girls in STEM.

With personalized instruction and an average of 8 students per instructor, this is anything but a typical classroom environment.  We take the pressure off so your daughter can get straight to what matters-building a love of learning, collaborating with new friends, and bringing her final project to life with unabashed creativity.

iD Tech also offers tech camps for ages 7-17 and teen-only academies.

Oasis Dance Project

Oasis Dance Project logo

Oasis Dance Project is the premier belly dance class for teen girls ages 13-18 in the Bay Area.  The program is offered as both an after-school program and a summer camp.

More than just a dance class, the program teaches Middle Eastern dance (popularly referred to as belly dance) as well as provides opportunities for exploring everyday issues that teens struggle with through journal writing and talking circles.  Teens will also be provided with support and mentorship from a diverse group of successful professional women in the community.

There are regular opportunities for performing and the girls will feel empowered, confident and gain a new level of self-respect for their bodies.  But most important of all, it’s so much fun and encourages individual creative expression!

Weekly class every Tuesday from 4-5:30 pm at The Beat dance studio in Berkeley at 2560 Ninth Street #119.  Class fee is donation based, although no one is turned away for lack of funds-pay what you can.  (Suggested Donation-$10)  Please call to reserve your spot in the class.

Summer Camp details are in process.  Please call or email to inquire.
