BandWorks Rock ‘n’ Roll Summer Camp

For kids 8+, BandWorks Rock n’ Roll Camp is open to beginners through advanced, older teen players. Professional musician-instructors create a fun and supportive environment while teaching kids skills needed to play in a rock band-and make new friends, too!Week-long Summer Full-or-Half-Day Camps offer a variety of classes throughout the summer. By the end of camp, students are rocking out in a live performance. Camps run from June 11th through August 17th. Bay Area Shakespeare Camp

Discover, Play & Act Shakespeare’s Works!Shakespeare Campers benefit from an atmosphere of creativity, heightened literacy, and self-expression. Camps are designed to welcome those new to the stage as well as experienced performers.Our camps also feature ample opportunities for swordplay and stage combat, theatre games, and costume and set designing.Each camp finishes with a mini performance of a Shakespeare play, staged and acted by campers for an audience of family and friends. This summer campers ages 7-13 will stage performances of ‘Pyramus and Thisbe’, ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and ‘Comedy of Errors’; ages 12-18 will stage ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’. Scripts, materials and supplies are all included!Camps are conveniently located in Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, the Peninsula, and the South Bay. They meet for 2-weeks, weekdays, 9am-3pm with aftercare available until 5:30 and are led by trained theater professionals.Experience is welcome but not required to get into the act and have fun with your friends! Cazadero Music Camp provides a nurturing, inspirational environment for young musicians ages 10-18. For more than 60 years, Cazadero has offered a dynamic music education program that strikes a thoughtful balance between in-depth music education and carefree summer camp fun. Cazadero is set on 33 acres near the Russian River in Sonoma County where young musicians learn together under a canopy of spectacular redwood trees.We have 5 camp sessions that are arranged progressively in age (5th – 12th grade) and ability. Havaya Arts is a new Jewish overnight arts camp based in Southern California, University of Redlands campus in Redlands, CA. Campers choose one of four core disciplines – theater, music, dance, and visual art – during each of our two-week sessions; electives allow young artists to continue working in their core discipline or to explore another field.With access to various studios and outdoor spaces of the University campus, all the tools and inspiration possible are right at our fingertips. Music Discovery Workshop

The Music Discovery Workshop & Youth Collegium is an exciting multi-arts program for youth sponsored by the San Francisco Early Music Society.Music and social history come to life as participants study music from the 15th – 18th centuries in singing, instrument and vocal ensembles, drama, crafts and dance. The week ends with a Final Performance of music and theater followed by a potluck feast.Music Discovery Workshop is for children in grades 1–6 who are looking for a fun artistic introduction to early music. Oakland Public Conservatory’s Summer Music Academy, for ages 8-15, is offering three 2-week sessions of intensive instruction within a multi-disciplinary music curriculum alongside activities such as visual art, dance, tai chi, spoken word, and sound engineering.Master teachers guide lessons in reading music, instrument practice, and composition. Instruments are available for students to try or adopt for study. By the end of each session, students will (1) perform selected music in ensembles, (2) acquire/improve sight-reading of notes, meter, and rhythms in musical scores, (3) practice/improve music vocabulary communication skills, (4) increase knowledge of music history, and (5) identify characteristics of music from various parts of the world.LOCATIONS: Coliseum College Preparatory Academy 1390-66th Ave and OPC main campus 3445 San Pablo Ave. TIME: 8:30-3:30 M-F; before- & aftercare available.
