Bar 717 Ranch / Camp Trinity
Founded in 1930, the Bar 717 Ranch is the oldest accredited co-educational summer camp in California. For 89 years the Bar 717 Ranch has offered children ages 8-16 an opportunity to spend the summer on a beautiful mountain ranch.Located in Northern California on 450 acres, the ranch is surrounded by the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The camp property consists of mountains and meadows, rivers and ponds for swimming and fishing, creeks for exploring and miles of trails to discover on foot or on horseback.Through ranch activities, the camp program emphasizes taking responsibility for oneself and others in a non-competitive, supportive environment. With the spirit of the pioneers, we work collectively toward the common goals of ranch life: friendship, fun and fulfillment through communal effort, respect for each other and an applied work ethic.Campers may choose freely from activities including horseback riding, backpacking, gardening, animal care, river swimming, homesteading, arts and crafts, photography, riflery, music, drama, archery, blacksmithing, ceramics and much more.DATES:

Coming of Age Program
The Stepping Stones Project guides and supports youth through long term mentoring and contemporary rites of passage. Our vision is to support generations of authentic, integrated human beings committed to healthy and heartfelt relationships with self, friends, family, community and nature. In order to accomplish these goals, youth go on monthly 6-hour daylong adventures throughout the year, to a variety of natural and outdoor locations. The groups spend multiple years together in a long-term mentoring process, creating both fun and meaningful relationships and support throughout a Coming of Age experience that the youth will remember for the rest of their lives. Our groups are composed of 8 youth and their families, two Leaders (mentors), and an Elder. We start boys and girls groups beginning in the fall of 6th, 7th, or 8th grade and ending in the fall of 9th grade. Groups are gender and grade-specific and usually grouped by location (for example, East Bay or Marin).Tuition for the program is $2,850 annually, although we offer extensive scholarships in order for cost to not be prohibitive for families. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information: info@steppingstonesproject.orgThank you!https://www.steppingstonesproject.org/ |
