Girl Power-Surge Camp! 2 weeks this year!

July 11- 15, 2016 & July 18-22, 2016
In this fun & enriching camp we join together as tribal members of Planet Earth to investigate the ways the Earth keeps us alive and kicking, and in turn how we may take care of her.  We cultivate a reverence for the natural world and an appreciation for the wonders of our hearts and bodies.  We look deeper into urban culture to see that the natural world is with us at all times.
This girl-centric camp creates time and space to find out what it means to be a powerful girl in the world today.  How do we do it?  We talk in sacred circle, do kid specific yoga, dance and craft our way into our shiniest girl-selves.  During this quality girl time, we practice earth-honoring rituals that connect us to our Mother Earth and to each other.
Kindness is always our theme for the week…kindness and serious fun! We dance every day – this year focusing on hula – and we will have a small performance/celebration on the final Friday to show parents and friends the inner joy of our Power-Surge girl-ness!
Taught by Jnana Gowan, Director Powerhouse Education & Freesia Huth- dance specialist.

This summer at Go Girls! Camp, over 500 rising 1st–rising 4th grade girls will join us in Oakland, Berkeley, Palo Alto, and San Francisco to #BeAmazing as we journey across Earth, Water, Sky, and Space to make a difference and learn just how much we matter!
Over the course of 2 weeks, girls in Go Girls! Camp work together to create and perform their own plays that reinforce social/emotional skills. All camps are led by a team of highly trained and very talented theater teaching artists, expressive artists, music specialists and the coolest teen assistants you will ever meet (basically, these are girls you want your daughters to grow up to be).
Each session is two-weeks long (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM– 4:00 PM) and culminates in “The Big Show” at 4 PM of the final Friday of the session. “The Big Show” is a celebration of our learning and our time together as a community, and is an essential part of the Go Girls! experience.
*Looking for the Go Girls! experience for an older girl? Check out our Go Girls!/Reel Stories Camps (rising 5th-6th grade) and our “GGLT” Counselor in Training program (rising 7th-9th grade)!
